1. Prepare For Liftoff - Market Update
Sparks are flying this month as major crypto assets like Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) have surged over 20%+ following recent developments in the ongoing battle for massive institutional adoption. As mentioned in previous Moonletter🚀’s, several of the world’s largest asset managers (including BlackRock, Fidelity, and Invesco, to name a few) have taken critical steps in their own personal endorsement of BTC and subsequently crypto adoption through the filing of spot BTC ETF applications.
The approval of these applications would effectively open the floodgates for trillions of Wall Street and Main Street dollars to flow into BTC and eventually other crypto assets. Unsurprisingly, this process has not come without relentless resistance from the TradFi regulatory system, specifically the SEC using several tools in their arsenal to thwart progress. Luckily for us (and hopefully you too), those tools are proving to be about as useful as a knife in a gunfight. A mature legion of steel swords versus an entirely new world of revolutionary cannons.
Long-time BTC advocate and asset manager Grayscale just took a major W (as the kids say). Grayscale initially had their Bitcoin ETF application rejected by the SEC. Just recently their ongoing case against the SEC was reviewed by the D.C Circuit Court of Appeals. This resulted in a ruling in Grayscale’s favor, essentially demanding the SEC abandon its rejection of their spot ETF application. Notably, the SEC chose not to appeal the courts decision further, chalking up a huge win and bullish signal for the blockchain industry.
More hints at mass BTC ETF approval came as the worlds largest asset manager BlackRock’s proposed offering appeared on the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporations (DTCC) website, signaling their confidence that the pending application would eventually be approved.
The world wonders if the SEC is on its last leg in its battle against crypto, or if they’ll continue to further delay the process. The consensus among industry experts is if one application gets approved, multiple will, and the impact of that would be monumental.
Time will tell, but this could very well mark the beginning of a crypto bull market the world has never seen before.

2. GameFi’s Savior…? Illuvium Beta
In the wake of the 2021 cryptocurrency boom, Axie Infinity sparked a significant rally dominating and perhaps conceiving the crypto gaming (GameFi) sector. This groundbreaking game attracted millions of players and generated billions in revenue, demonstrating the enormous potential of merging gaming with blockchain.
Axies’s initial enthusiasm has admittedly waned as their ecosystem grappled with issues from gameplay quality to unsustainable tokenomics. These issues lead to a decline in both user activity and asset value—a trend mirrored across the GameFi sector. Unfortunately this is common, as imperfect ecosystems are to be expected in such an emerging market segment.
Despite these challenges, the concept of a successful crypto-based game remains viable, as evidenced by the emergence of Illuvium. Drawing inspiration from popular titles like Pokémon, Team Fight Tactics and Halo, Illuvium is ambitiously positioned to become the first AAA-quality crypto game with a sustainable approach to cryptoeconomics.
Over the past year, Illuvium has been engaging its community with a series of beta releases, each offering a glimpse into its evolving gameplay. Illuvium has a fantastic youtube channel filled with HD content. The AB team got to play test these impressive betas, and as gamers ourselves, we’re excited to say this game is genuinely fun.
The anticipation is particularly high for the upcoming beta, which introduces a PvP (Player vs. Player) mode—a feature that is expected to draw significant attention from both the gaming and crypto communities. This PvP mode promises to add an exciting, strategic layer to gameplay, enhancing player engagement and competition.
Looking ahead, Illuvium's team is gearing up for a pivotal moment: the launch of the full open beta in Q1 2024. This version will integrate real NFTs into the gameplay, marking a critical step in the game's development. 3. Web3 Art Galleries in Hollywood
Free to attend Web3 art galleries across LA California are popping up thanks to AB cofounder, Dylan Rhodes, also known as Dyl. Dylan recently started the new live event series giving Web3 artists globally a platform in the real world for exposure. These events surround Crypto & NFT culture and feature creative works available across several blockchains. The events are for networking/education in Web3, showcasing art and of course appreciating new art forms.
NFTs are a growing tech within crypto as many artists are selling their works onchain. We believe the use cases for NFTs extend far beyond just the mainstream application surrounding PFP collections like Bored Ape Yacht Club (which are still pretty cool). NFTs are becoming an essential tool for creators and artists of the digital age. NFT Galleries give homes to these growing communities for building and sharing all types of emerging artistic use cases.
Spearheading this initiative with passion, Dyl is a Multi-Platinum recording artist who for the past three years has been using blockchain to sell his and other artists music.
